A complete tour around the Argentine and Chilean Patagonia. After visiting the main sights of Buenos Aires, you start the trip around the southern-most region of South America. A great combination including the main points of interest of the Argentine Patagonia such as Peninsula Valdes, Ushuaia and El Calafate; and an unforgettable cruise through Chilean waters to visit incredible places in the sothern Chilean Patagonia.
Day 1 Buenos Aires
Arrival and meeting at Ezeiza International Airport.
Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. In the afternoon, city tour sightseeing the most interesting places in Buenos Aires city: Plaza de Mayo Square, the Government House, the Cabildo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Mayo Avenue, the Congress Palace, the Colón Theatre, La Boca neighbourhood, Palermo, the Planetarium and La Recoleta with its famous cemetery.
Day 2 Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure for optional tours: we recommend the Fiesta Gaucha (Tu., We., Fr. & Su.): full day excursion dedicated to the visit of an estancia, a typical Argentine ranch, ideal place to appreciate the Argentine gaucho skills in cattle breeding and horseback riding. We will also enjoy the typical Argentine barbecue, the “asado": cow ribs placed on an iron grid and grilled on wood embers.
Day 3 Buenos Aires / Ushuaia
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the local airport to board flight to Ushuaia. Meeting at the airport and city tour visiting Ushuaia''''''''''''''''s most important places and the "End of the World Museum". Transfer to the hotel.
Day 4 Ushuaia / Mare Australis cruise
Breakfast at the hotel. Half day excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park, located 12 km. from Ushuaia. We will enjoy an excursion with multiple panoramic sights of the Beagle Channel, Lapataia River, Laguna Verde and Lake Roca. In the afternoon we will embark the M/V Mare Australis cruise. Dinner on board. Sail along the Beagle Channel.
Day 5 Mare Australis cruise
We will sail through the Beagle and the Murray Channels to disembark in Cape Horn National Park. Cape Horn is a natural sea wall, almost 425 meters high, that was discovered on January 30, 1616, by a commercial expedition from the Netherlands organized by Isaac Le Maire and under the command of Captain Willem Schouten. Cape Horn owes its name to the Port of Hoorn from which the expedition had originated on June 14, 1615. Later, we disembark in Walaia Bay, which was one of the most important indigenous sites of the region.
Day 6 Mare Australis cruise
We will sail Garibaldi Fjord where we will be able to enjoy views of the Glacier of the same name and the impressive snow fields of the Darwin Range. On the route along the bay, the ship makes a short stop to admire the sea lions. We will take the opportunity to disembark in zodiacs at one of the beaches along this protected and wonderful place, where we will undertake an adventurous trek to appreciate the lush vegetation and the virgin forests that cover the mountain slopes. After this unforgettable experience we will continue navigating through O´Brian and Ballenero Channels, Bahía Desolada, Paso Aguirre and Brecknock Channel.
Day 7 Mare Australis cruise / Torres del Paine
Early in the morning we will disembark in Magdalena Island, home of an enormous penguin colony with over 120,000 of them in different stages of breeding. We will take a walk to San Isidro Lighthouse, which used to guide the explorer sailors on their way across the Magellans Strait. After our visit we will return to Punta Arenas where we dock at 11.00AM and start disembarking formalities. Thus our Adventure comes to its end. Disembark at Punta Arenas from where we will depart on regular bus line to Torres del Paine. Meeting and accommodation.
Day 8 Torres del Paine
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park to admire its marvellous flora and fauna with the majestic frame of the Andes Mountain Range. We will also have the chance to admire its lakes, rivers and glacial era landscapes.
Day 9 Torres del Paine / El Calafate
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by a regular bus line to El Calafate. Meeting and accommodation.
Day 10 Perito Moreno Glacier
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier located in Los Glaciares National Park. This imposing ice river, 3 km. wide and 50 m high, descends from the Patagonian Continental Ice provoking ice cracks and explosions during its slow forward movements. Because of its breathtaking beauty and unusual behaviour it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Later we will embark for a navigation excursion.
Day 11 El Calafate / Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board flight to Buenos Aires. Meeting and transfer to the hotel.
Day 12 Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Ezeiza International Airport to board the international flight.
