Skorpios II Chonos Route tour, (6 days / 5 nts), Chile

Skorpios II plies the Chonos route, offering a 6 day circuit from Puerto Montt down to San Rafael, stopping en route at Chiloe and passing through the maze of channels, fjords and archipelagoes that make up southern Patagonia.

Day 1:Puerto Montt - Chiloe (Sat)

Day 2:Puerto Aguirre - Puerto Leopardos (Sun)

Day 3:San Rafael Glacier (Mon)

Day 4:Quitralco Fjord - Patagonian Channels (Tue)

Day 5:Corcovado Gulf - Chiloé (Wed)

Day 6:Puerto Montt (Thur)

Day 1: Puerto Montt - Chiloe (Sat)
12:00 hrs. - Sail from the Patagonia cruises - View of Skorpios II

Puerto Montt Skorpios Terminal. Navigate through the archipelago of Llanquihue Archipelago, Gulf of Ancud, and Chiloé Archipelago. Crossing the Corcovado Gulf in the night.

Day 2: Puerto Aguirre - Puerto Leopardos (Sun)
Navigation through the Moraleda and Ferronave Channels. Arrival to Puerto Aguirre, a remote village. Then sail through the Ferronave, Pilcomayo and Costa Channels; vessel will anchor in Pto. Leopardos, 32 km / 20 mi from San Rafael Glacier.

Day 3: San Rafael Glacier (Mon)
Skorpios II - San Rafael Glacier

Cut through the San Rafael Bay and Témpanos Channel and anchor only 2 km / 1,2 mi away from the glacier. Excursions in motorboats. In the afternoon the ship will move closer to the glacier; p.m. departure from the glacier to the Quitralco Fjord.

Day 4: Quitralco Fjord - Patagonian Channels (Tue)
At Quitralco Fjord passengers will be able to enjoy the thermal baths in indoor and/or outdoor pools. Excursions in motorboats on the fjord; p.m. departure to Chiloé,sa Patagonia - Chiloe

Day 6: Puerto Montt (Thur)
08:00 hrs. - Anchor at the Skorpios Terminal dock. 08:00 – 09:00 hrs.- Disembarkation and transfer of passengers to the airport

I want you to know that everything went very well. The tour guides that assisted us through our trip both in Peru and Chile were very professional. Our trip became stress free knowing that when we arrived at a destination, someone was there to transport us to our hotel. The hotels were all quite comfortable and met our needs. The only hotel we were not thoroughly satisfied with was with Hotel Posada del Inca Yucay. The staff there was not very friendly and the restaurant was a bit overpriced. I guess they don''t have to try very hard since there were no other restaurants to choose from in such a small town.

The town was charming and we were glad to have been there, just that this one hotel did not match the hospitality we experience everywhere else. Thank you so much for such a wonderful service. I would not hesitate to recommend Latin Discover to friends and family and when we plan another trip to South America, most certainly will consider you.

Laura I have been meaning to email and thank you for everything. All the trip went very well and we were very happy with all your arrangements and very impressed with your service. We will definitely use your services again when travelling in your areas. The only thing I thought I would mention was the process to choose the cabins on the boat. The singles turned out to be in the bottom of the boat without portals. We were able to change them because there was lots of room so they moved up to the same deck we were on.

We had a lovely cabin!! I have a feeling I should have picked up on the location of the cabins before but I didn't so others might miss it too! Anyway, that was small in the overall scheme of things and we all want to thank you vey much. If you ever need someone for a reference I'd be happy to do that!! Thanks again, Barbara
