Some independent feedback on our trips from past travellers over the years

Costa Rica trip, - November 17, 2003

Here is some feedback as requested on the holiday we went on recently. Pablo at Adobe was very helpful. we arrived quite late but he took the time to show us how to get to the hotel. He didn't get to leave work until midnight. After the long journey this was really appreciated. All the hotels were excellent and the car hire was very good.

Only suggestion here would be to get a better map. We ended up using one from our guide book. The only comment to improve thing would be to provide more information about the initial limits on the PayPal system. We would have set this up further in advance. We were very pleased with the service and your help. We would consider booking again with your company.

Thank you for organising the most fantastic trip - I arrived back last night and it will count as one of the best holidays of my life. The organisation was superb and your team in Peru really looked after me every step of the way. A Special mention for Carlos who did the city tour of Cusco - he was an absolute star. The only downside was the Riveria Hotel in Lima, the staff were great and the service was superb. Again, many many thanks

Federico - it is me again - from Australia! I wanted to thank you again for you wonderful efforts in organising my trip. It was an incredible experience I will long remember. Everything went very smoothly and I could not complain about one thing (other than that I wished I could have stayed that little bit longer!!). I had been disappointed that I could not get to the Cola Canyon, but after having done the Inca Trail ..... well - there is no more disappointment - it was definitely the highlight of my trip - very hard and a couple of times I thought 'what am I doing this to myself for??!!' - ha! But it was so worth it. And when I came through the Sungate overlooking Macchu Picchi I could hardly believe where I was - in real life! I enjoyed the whole of Peru - from the alligator night hunting in the Amazon, to just looking at the arid desert landscape, and simply communicating with people in the streets etc. Many people were quite amazed that I was travelling on my own, but I am glad I did it that way - I was able to meet more local people, and I think it was much more personal. The Inca Trail guide and company were excellent and being only 4 trekkers, again - it was nice and personal and I think we got to see and hear so much more. My head was swimming with all the historical data on Peru etc. I had a 19 hour wait in Buenos Aeros(?) on way home and decided I wasnt going to hang around the airport, so organised with immigration to leave the airport (took a bit of effort!) and caught the local bus into the city centre - I loved it - very impressed with the inner city - took 2 hours back on the local workers bus to the airport but was all very interesting to me.

Federico - just a quick note from Macchi Picchi - just to let you know I have been having the most wonderful time and all your organisation has been terrific. I will get back to you after I get home as I only have a day or two left. Many thanks.

Ecuador trip, - October 2, 2003

Just wanted to thank you for coordinating a superb trip of the Galapagos! It was a perfect introduction to this magnificent paradise; and I will definitely work with you in the future to organize a longer tour of more islands and perhaps a tour of Patagonia. Everything was extremely well-organized and the guides were always punctual, friendly and informative. The staff at the hotels were also excellent.

Peru trip, Julie N (from USA) - September 15, 2003

The trip you'd planned for us was superb, and appreciate your thoughtful and professional input which made our trip memorable. As you have heard, we'd arrived at Lima 14 hours late. The Lima tour adjusted our plan, and made the trip much more interesting for us. We had an opportunity to spend a night at Iquitos, worthy a place to start our Amazon tour and a perfect place to purchase shoes for the jungle since our luggage couldn't quite make it with us. They took good care of us from the beginning to the end. Setting up ExplorNapo first, then Ceiba Top.

To appreciate how luxurious Ceiba Top is, one must spend sometime at ExplorNapo first, and then you remember & realize the special time you have had at ExplorNapo. We had an unexpected pleasure having to spend sometime with Peter, an extraordinary & inspiring man with a vision who'd created & developed Explorama lodges. Excellent hotels; Swissotel after Amazon -what a treat!

Sonesta in Sacred Valley gave us a sense of history of that special region. Pueblo Hotel in Machu Picchu, a beautiful mountain retreat was almost like a piece of paradise. Monasterio Hotel in Cusco was the finest situated perfectly to enjoy one of most beautiful & enchanting city in the world. I can go on more...Thank you for your help and putting up with my pre-tour jitters, etc. If & when we will be fortunate enough to have another opportunity to visit Peru, we will contact you again. Hope you will remember us. With our best wishes, Gracias.

Peru trip, Julie N (from USA) - September 14, 2003

Peru was beyond my imagination. The tour was a gem. Lima tour is experienced, well-organized, efficient, and flexible. The most impressive guide was in Qusqo (the correct way, she taught us) city tour - a passionate, proud and knowledgeable guide. She represents the city's emotion which is superb & rare. They helped us to locate/claim our luggage, booked us the late flight to Iquitos & put us up at a very nice hotel in the main square where we could purchase shoes for the jungle. The tour went on w/o a hitch. The tour was more than we'd anticipated - spectacular and a full of wonder. We appreciate very much for your concern and help to organize this unforgettable trip.

Travis and I wanted to send you our heartfelt thanks for helping us create a wonderful, memorable trip to Peru. Everything worked perfectly and allowed us to focus on enjoying the beauty of the places we visited. The representatives of your Peruvian partner and the hotels were all first rate and we fell in love with the country (we''re already trying to figure out how soon we can go back to see more). Thank you again for all your hard work and your attention to our unending questions. I hope to work with you and your associates again very soon.

Chile trip, - September 2, 2003

I returned from Chile on Sunday. I enjoyed the trip very much. As one who has lived in a desert all my life, it was interesting to compare where I live to the Atacama. The agency in San Pedro, Desert Adventure, was fine. Their guides were friendly and informative. The people at the hotel, La Casa de Don Tomas, were wonderful. And I completely forgot to tell you one thing I speak Spanish and didn't need an English speaking guide. In fact, other than the cold, which I am not used to, I had only one small problem: I had to pay for the return transfer from San Pedro to Calama. It was only $10, so I didn't want to argue with the driver or create a fuss. I didn't recognize the driver as being one from Desert Adventure or any of the other passengers as people I had seen on my various tours, so I can only assume that it was a different agency that took care of the transfer. It is not necessary to reimburse me for the cost of the transfer, but I think the matter should be brought to the attention of someone in San Pedro. If I should return to one of the countries in which you work, I will gladly seek your assistance.

Everything on my recent trip to Peru was terrific! The tour company you used down there was excellent. The guides were good. The buses were on time. The contacts were all there when they were supposed to bethere. It was easy and simple. Thanks for your help. I really enjoyed myself.

Thank you so much for the wonderful trip that we had. We really enjoyed so much about Peru. We hope that at near future we will take another South American trip with your company. We would recommend your services to others interested in Peru. All our connections with the transfers and guides were excellent. The scenery and cultural sites were magnificent. By the way, the hotels were all very nice except for the Lima hotel (Hotel Continental); good location but everything was damp and dirty. This is just a small point for future reference. The Amazon lodge (Corto Maltes) and Cusco hostel (San Isidro Labrador) were both very nice, as were others along our trip. Best of luck with everything.

The Mcauliffes had a wonderful time and everyone met them as planned. I don't believe there were any glitches at all! Thanks for everything.
