Peru trip, Ceyhun O (from Turkey) - April 18, 2006
Sandra, now I am back to Istanbul safely with a lot of nice memories from Peru. I wish to take this chance and express my appreciation for the great time I had back in Peru.
I write a final comment for my trip to Peru: ""It all started with my first email to Latin Discover. A long waited dream journey to Andes was now to be realised. I must admit their support and endeavor to make my trip a remarkable one, they succeeded. It was definitely the most interesting trip I ever had. Thru the Andes on the Inca Trail, one must prepare for surprises. Sudden change of weather for example. Within seconds you are surrounded by clouds no matter you were sizzling under the sun minutes ago. You might wake up and get out of your tent to see a flock of Llamas are wandering around your campsite. Porters will be running where you are trying to catch your breath.
Most interesting was the so-called market in Wayllabamba village where we bought some sweets and water. This was actually the small window of a local home with the sign "we accept visa and mastercard" handwritten. It was controversial to the wilderness that you were actually able to use your credit card for your purchase.
I would be able to write a lot more, but as most friends I made on the trail admit, it is once in a lifetime experience to arrive at Machu Picchu thru the trail. While you are around, I suggest you to visit museums of Lima and Pachacamac. Pyramid temples of Pachacamac are just spectacular."
I will recommend Latindiscover to everyone of my friends and will be in touch for my future visits to South America. Until next time, take care. Warmest regards, Ceyhun

Hello Mauricio: I was planning to write you today anyway to tell you how pleased we were with our entire trip. Your supplier in Peru, did an outstanding job for us. Whenever we got off a plane or a train, there was always someone to meet us and take us to our next destination. All our guides spoke excellent English, had a great sense of humor, and were very knowledgeable about the history and archeology of the historic sites we visited.
It was particularly interesting to have arrived in Lima on election day, as we got involved in some lively political discussions. Your hotel choices were also excellent. The Miraflores was perhaps the most elegant, but the Monasterio, Sol y Luna, and the Sanctuary Lodge were also first rate. We were especially pleased with the excellent food in Peru, particularly at Sol y Luna and the Sanctuary Lodge (we did not have dinner at the Monasterio, although we hear it is also excellent). I was amazed that such excellent chefs were working in such remote areas.
One note for your reference: effective April, 2005, visitors can no longer enter the ruins at Machu Picchu after 6:00 pm, which takes away some of the incentive for staying at the Sanctuary Lodge. Since there was a full moon on Wednesday, we were disappointed that we were not able go into the ruins in the evening. Although we enjoyed the Sanctuary Lodge (and had an excellent room), we probably could have saved some money by staying at the Machu Picchu Pueblo and taking an early bus to the ruins. Mauricio, you did an excellent job for us, and I have already recommended your firm to several friends. Thanks so much for putting together such a wonderful trip. Eliot
Costa Rica trip, Kathy Z - April 10, 2006
Mauricio, Thank you so very much for all of your help in planning our Costa Rica trip. We travel a lot and this was the best trip we have taken so far. I have told everyone I know about the wonderful experience we had with the open voucher.
Our experience with the Volcano Lodge, Hotel Clara Luna and Hotel Tango Mar was exceptional! We did run into a problem at Hotel Cariblue, but it was a blessing because we had the best experience at La Costa de Papito. We are looking forward for our next "Pura Vida" Costa Rica experience and we will definitely use the open voucher. Please commend all of your staff and yourself for such a job well done!! Thank you so much Mauricio!!! Kathy Z

Many thanks for a well orgainised vacation. There were no problems with any of the arrangements. We particularly liked the confirmatory pick-up messages from Adobe and Mawamba Lodge The hotels you suggested met our requirements perfectly. I can thoroughly recommend your organisation.
I would however, like to make one suggestion. A guide to tipping in Costa Rica, who and how much, would be a useful addition to the individual web sites.
Once again many thanks for a delighful vacation.
Peru trip, Ceyhun Ozturk (from Turkey) - April 3, 2006
Sandra, I am back in Lima after a great trekking experience, having made new friends as well. The organisation has been great so far. I wish to thank you very much indeed for such a precise and meticolous arrangement of everything. Cusco is a great city, I wished I had chosen to spend one of my extra days in Cusco.
However, this has given me the idea that I should come back soon, for I know I already missed Macchupiccu. Luckily, we had sun when we arrived at there, despite of rain all the time of trekking. I was well prepared and did not have any difficulties. Our tour guide Cesar Calvo Nunez is a fantastic guy who really loves his job. He is one valiant man. Well, I will stay in touch. Take care, Ceyhun
Costa Rica trip, Julie H (from Canada) - March 31, 2006
The rental went very smoothly and the RAV 4 proved to be the perfect vehicle for a family of four traveling throughout Costa Rica. I was very impressed with the service that your company offered and with the rental company that provided us with a vehicle. The two staff that we met in Costa Rica were thorough and conscientious.
Costa Rica trip, Sandy T (from USA) - March 31, 2006
Mauricio, Our trip to Costa Rica was a great adventure! We are sharing our pictures and experiences with all our friends and family. We do plan on returning next year for vacation, but want to stay longer. I only had one problem and it was my fault. I left both our cell phones at the Flamingo Marina Resort, I had taken them out of the luggage to charge them for our return home.
We called the Resort many times, but were not able to recover the phones. Other than that, the total experience was our best ever. Many of our friends are interested in the open voucher. Thanks, Sandy Talley

Argentina trip, Gretchen B (from USA) - March 28, 2006
Sandra, thank you very much for coordinating our trip within Argentina. We loved the 4-day excursion to Salta, the northwest of Argentina is just beautiful. Our hotel, Hotel Salta, was in a perfect location, right on the corner of the main plaza in the city so we enjoyed easily walking around town and the hotel itself is very quaint in the traditional style of the country - dark wood and Spanish tiles.
We added a city tour the day we arrived in order to see a lot in a short amount of time. Vanessa, our tour guide from Tastil, the local tour provider, was wonderful. We enjoyed meeting her so much that we hired her to accompany us in a rental car to tour the area south of Salta in the Quebrada de Cafayate, the day after our included tour north to the Quebrada de Humahuaca. I would also highly recommend a restaurant and folkloric show called La Vieja Estacion in Salta.
The only glitch in plans, and it was fairly minor, was that the local tour company did not have the correct flight arrival and departure times. After a phone call to the contact in Buenos Aires upon arrival in Salta, they quickly got a van from the local tour company to pick us up at the airport. I spoke with the people in the tour office (very close to our hotel) to correct the departure time. We toured and saw a lot in the time we had and all four of us left feeling that our time in Salta was one to be remembered. It was a vacation within our vacation. Thanks again, Gretchen
Costa Rica trip, Susanna L (from USA) - March 28, 2006

Argentina trip, Jack P (from UK) - March 27, 2006
Another great visit to Argentina. Our hotel at Mendoza was fine, nice and central; it also had a decent restaurant as we were so tired at the end of our sightseeing tours that all we wanted to do was eat in the hotel and go to bed!! We had forgotten that day trips in Argentina meant just that!! Leave at 7-00am and return at 8-30pm.
Both agencies used young students as guides. This was fine in Mendoza, however in Salta the agency didn''t provide departure times for the Movitrak safari. I had to go direct to the Movitrak Office and sort out the details. They were very helpful and they also had the details of our bird watching trip and they contacted Ricardo Clark and passed on information of our pick times.
Hotel Salta was also of good quality. These were a couple of minor problems that were easy to sort. We really enjoyed our stay and who knows, we may return in a couple of years. Finally thanks for your help in organising a never to be forgotton holiday.
Costa Rica trip, Pauline B (from USA) - March 22, 2006
Mauricio, The van worked out great. We were glad that it was a diesel. We might need to rent the same van now again for another week now in April. Is the price and everything the same? Muchas Gracias
Chile trip, Andrew B (from South Africa) - March 21, 2006
Laura, thanks very much for organizing a great trip! All the arrangements worked out as planned - not one problem! All the hotels were fine. The only comment we would make in that regard is that the restaurant at Hosteria las Torres was very expensive! But the location at Hosteria las Torres is, I think, the best in the park, so wouldn't change that.
The car hire worked well. The directions were good. There was only one place where we found the instructions a little ambiguous and took the wrong road. We soon realized our mistake and didn't lose much time. The map which Hertz gave us was not detailed enough, but we had obtained another map in advance, so we were fine, but it would help to recommend that specifically to people in advance. The other information which would be very helpful is to know exactly where gasoline is available, during which hours of the day, days of the week and the relative cost. Overall we had a great time and only wish it could have been longer!
Argentina and Chile are beautiful countries with friendly people and fascinating history. We definitely want to travel to South America again and will have no hesitation in recommending you and Latin Discover to others who are planning to travel to that part of the world! Thank you once again for making all our arrangements. Kind regards, Andrew B. and Janine K.
