Peru trip, Don Coakley (from USA) - March 2, 2010
Good Morning, Mauricio,
We are enjoying being back in our own bed. But we had a wonderful time! We have talked about how wonderful the arrangements were.
First, all the people that met us at the airports and transferred us to the hotels were very friendly, helpful and on time. Then our guide in Puno was excellent!!! She was so knowledgeable and just made us feel so comfortable, like we were her personal guests!
The bus ride to Cusco was just as great as you reccomended with a good lunch and guide included. The Monasterio was the best hotel we have ever stay in, with great service and delicious food. The city tour there was not as organized or informative as we received in other cities but we still enjoyed being there as Ceasar that picked us at the airport had given us a city map and suggested some areas for us to explore and restaurants to try.
Then of course, we had a good tour with Victor in Lima and the Friday culinary tour with Fernando was like being treated like royalty. Fernando took us all over the city and we were welcomed with open arms every where we went. It was the perfect ending to a great trip.
We of course were disappointed about the Nazca lines but the alternative turned out to be better than we could have imagined. We appreciate you and are waiting to find out about the refund since the Friday tour to the islands and to the Nazca lines was cancelled due to the incident.
We certainly will tell our friends and family about your great service and we will certainly consult with you with any other travel we plan in your area. PLEASE feel free to use us for recommendations.

Costa Rica trip, John Blank (from USA) - February 16, 2010
Hi Mauricio,
We were very pleased with the arrangements and enjoyed the trip. Please find the trip assessment below.
Jan 25 - Arrival into SAN JOSE
Hotel Britannia for overnight. The hotel was a little far from the center so it was not easy to get to restaurants. Service was good but not remarkable.
Jan 27,28 SAN JOSE / TORTUGUERO
Turtle Lodge Pickup went smoothly and the tour guide was excellent giving good commentary in English and Spanish to a mixed group. The hotel was good and the excursions on land and boat were very good and enhanced by the good tour guide.
Jan 29,30,31 TORTUGUERO / SAN JOSE/Alajuela
Buena Vista. The hotel was wonderfully located and very central for our excursions in the area. Service and food were excellent.
Feb 1, 2 SAN JOSE / PUERTO VIEJO de SARAPIQUI
Selva Verde Lodge Excellent! Rooms good, local guides good.Hotel facilities, free and paid for tours were very good with lots of birds spotted, especially on the boat and coca tours. Only problem was our room was far from the main facilities, but close to the river.
Feb 3, 4 PUERTO VIEJO de SARAPIQUI / ARENAL
Arenal Kioro The hotel was a wonderful surprise in great style. The room faced the volcano but no spitting of the volcano. The hot baths were cold and the alternative offered by the hotel near town was only mildly warm. Service was very good in keeping with the style of the hotel.
Feb 5,6 ARENAL / MONTE VERDE
El Establo hotel. The last 40 km of the road here were really bad as was the road out. The hotel was very interesting with the grounds extending up the hill to their own cloud forest. Very nice setting.
Feb 7,8,9 MONTE VERDE / MANUEL ANTONIO
El Parador. Quite a grand hotel, enjoyed pool and looking out to the Pacific from the dining area. We had reserved an garden view room but opted to upgrade to an ocean view room. This made the experience much better. The setting of the hotel was delightful and we particularly enjoyed the dining room setting although the food was too salty for our tastes. The road for the last 2 KM to the hotel was particularly bad. The general location of Manuel Antonio was very enjoyable although the park trails were very crowed by 9am. Beaches were fine
Feb 10 MANUEL ANTONIO / JACO
Canciones del Mar Great location for hotel and quiet. Here we again had a garden view room on the ground floor, but for one night it was satisfactory. The town was not very attractive but the hotel has a simple charm and very good bird watching within the grounds. We were surprised by the very good dinner we had in their dining room.
Feb 11 JACO / SAN JOSE
Our stay at the Hampton Inn was unremarkable. The location was very convenient for the airport departure. No dining room, but hotel provided transportation to “Steak House” which was on the highway (noise) and near jets taking off.
Overall we were very satisfied with the arrangements and the choice of hotels
Please let us know which other areas you cover and perhaps we can work together next winter.
Kind regards,
John Blank
Ecuador trip, Paul Currie (from Canada) - February 15, 2010
Sandra,
I found the Athala boat very good, the right boat for us. I wish it was easier to get to and from galapagos as we found it harder than getting to the other side of the world. But you were good to deal with and your information was solid, I suspect at some point we will try to do patagonia.
cheers

Chile trip, David L (from USA) - January 25, 2010
Hi Laura,
Scenery is absolutely spectacular. Accommodations are sometimes just OK, food isn`t always great, but I came for the natural beauty, and in that respect, it doesn`t dissapoint. Everywhere you look it`s another beautiful mountain, forest, river, stream, lake, farm. Words and pictures can`t describe how beautiful it is. Therefore, in this respect, the destination met my expectations.
Hertz: Great. I got a Toyota 4Runner, and it performed very well. No complaints.
El Puesto/Puerto Rio Tranquilo: Very good hotel, excellent dining. Enjoyed the stay. The Lago General Carrera area and the marble caves are incredible. I would have traded Futaleufu for more time in this area and perhaps a trip to Caleta Tortel.
The star was the trip to Laguna San Rafael. It was really good, and met my expectation in every way. Scenery was great, ship was really good, professional crew, decent food, and lavish liquor. A musician turns the return into a great party. All in all, a great time and really beautiful.
Puyuhuapi Lodge and Spa: Very beautiful, worthwhile. It`s a beautiful place in the middle of nowhere. They try to upsell you with excursions and spa treatments, so it can get expensive if you do all of those things.
Coyhaique area: Some of the most beautiful scenery is around Coyhaique, especially the trip from Coyhaique to Puerto Chacabuco.

Hi Sandra, I want you to know that our customers were incredibly excited! Both were very enthusiastic about all they have received. In addition they were also very happy with the guides they had during the trip. They told me they will send a separate letter with all their feedback, and I will pass it to you at the moment I got it.
See you soon. Regards,

Hi Mauricio,
Deposit all done for our November trip to Peru. Thank you so much. May I say you have made this part so easy for me. You are super efficient.
Go ahead and confirm the flights (Lima / Cusco / Lima). You are the first agent to give me the benefit of a reduction. I will certainly recommend you on my travels.

Chile trip, Annika S (from Sweden) - January 14, 2010
Dearest Laura,
I would first of all like to wish you a Happy New Year.
Then even more importantly, on behalf of Alessio and myself, I would like to THANK YOU very much for your service and all your assistance in booking our trip to Easter Island and Chile. Very professional and extremely detailed.
It was an unforgettable trip!!! A lot of it due to the fact that it was all so well organized and everything was pre-booked. We really didn`t have to worry about anything. Wonderful!
Valentina was a great guide and help in Santiago and we really felt she was there for us. She was very willing to assist and had many good tips about Chile and our visit there. The drivers were also very kind and helpful and the car comfortable.
On our wine tour we aslo had a very good experience. Only the map wasn`t as detailed as one whould have wishes. The stay at Las Majadas de Colchagua was in particular nice and unforgettable. The whole area has so much to offer and is so very interesting. Santa Cruz for example, a great place.
We would at no time hesitate to recomend Latin Discover for any bookings to Chile. Very Professional! We will be back when we are planning our next trip to Latin America.
Thank you once again Laura.
Wishing you all the best for the future.
Kind regards,
Annika
Chile trip, Donald A (from Canada) - January 13, 2010
Hi Laura,
We had a wonderful two weeks in Chile, thoroughly enjoying the different landscapes, and situations. We also found the Chilean people very friendly and hospitable, always eager to assist confused Canadian tourists if they could.
Our tours in Chile were also most interesting, and well organized. We were also impressed with the quality of the accommodation, incuding our hotel in Bariloche.
We aslo fully enjoyed the Santiago/Valpariso- Viña der Mar region.
Thanks again for your assistance,
Best wishes, Don
Panama trip, Alicia Ludin (from USA) - January 11, 2010
Hi Mauricio,
I just wanted to let you know I had a great time on my past day visit to panama. I have visited the sights before so the purpose of my trip was to shop and have a good lunch before going back to the airport. The woman that picked me up, her name escapes me at the moment, was incredibly nice. She helped me practice my Spanish and was also someone who I had spent the day with on a previous trip so she remember some of the things I had told her in the past. She was very kind and took me to a great place for lunch and showed me the best stores to shop in. Overall I had a great, relaxing trip.
Thanks so much for taking care of my arrangements!
Sincerely,
Alicia
Peru trip, Edward H (from USA) - December 28, 2009
Hi Mauricio,
I returned from Peru earlier today (Dec 25th). The trip you arranged for me went very smoothly. At each connection I was met by someone to handle the next step, and there were no delays and no problems. The guide I had at Machu PIcchu was VERY good, the best of the different guides for the different days. The scheduling of time to have almost a full day at Machu Picchu, followed by another half day, was perfect, offering ample time for the guided part of the visit and time to explore on my own, as well as the opportunity to experience the site under a variety of weather ranging from light rain to full sun, with fog and clouds in between. I would have been very disappointed to have spent only a few hours there, as many tours apparently do.
The hotels were fine, and the one in Yucay was a delight with its gardens and its quiet setting--a very pleasant break from the traffic and activity in Lima and Cusco. And its restaurant was very good, the best of the three hotels. I enjoyed both the city tour of Cusco on the first day, and the chance to wander around on my own on the morning of the last day.
My friends in LIma reviewed my itinerary before I set out, and said that the logistics to take the train back only to Ollantaytambo and then drive from there to Cusco were a sign of a very good tour planner, because of how long it takes to get back all the way to Cusco by train.
The only change I would make would be to the day visiting Pisac and Ollantaytambo. The Pisac stop was really just for shopping, and it did not interest me. And we really did not have enough time to explore the ruins at Ollantaytambo. The guide spoke at length and the time on our own felt rushed. My friends had hoped that I would get to view the site at Moray and the salt making site, and I saw the sign for the former on the way back from Ollantaytambo to Cusco (a different road than the one through Pisac. So, if I were to change anything, it would be to visit those two sites on the way to Ollantaytambo instead of visiting Pisac, and then have more time at Ollantaytambo. But this reflects my preferences, and I know some people prefer shopping.
Anyway, it was a great trip, and I will recommend both Peru and Latin Discover to people interested in a visit. I have not checked your website in detail. What other countries in Latin America do you offer tours in?
I hope you and your family had a merry Christmas. Best wishes to you for the new year.
